Hand Carved Wedding Bed

This amazing bed was hand carved many years ago in the Qing Dynasty. It has been refinished to show off the amazing lines and character of the wood. The panels at the top center of the bed are blessings for the bride and groom. On the right it says the groom's blessing to be healthy and strong. On the left it says the bride's blessing to be as beautiful as a flower. A unique find.

An exquisite example of ivory inlay done in the 1880's. Most cabinets of this type were updated in Shanghai during the 1930's and the upper wood panels were ususally replaced with mirrors. This is an orginal.

This holy scholar's table came from a monestary outside of Lasha, Tibet. The surface of the table is covered in painted leather. The interior is lined with holy scriptures and the story of the Monkey King's travels to bring back the sacred Buddhist texts. Unusual altar table of exquisite Tibetan craftsmanship.
